This is not Mozilla’s mobile version of Firefox, this is an open source multimedia suite that has a lot to offer. You can use Fennec Player to listen to your audio tracks, to view videos, to convert media files, to join them, and to rip audio CDs. You can do all this from a good looking, user friendly interface, that provides support for skins and themes.

The Fennec Player installation file is little over 7.3MB in size; on a high speed connection, downloading it onto your machine will take little time. The setup wizard that shows up when you run the aforementioned file asks you to pick the installation folder, choose if you want a shortcut on the desktop, and pick if you want to launch Fennec Player once the installation process completes. All these options are presented on a single prompt, alongside the Install button. Hit it and in no time at all the installation will complete and you’ll have Fennec Player up and running on your machine.

If you’ve ever used a media player before, you shouldn’t have any problems getting accustomed with the interface – and that’s a very nice thing. What’s even nicer is that you can switch between a minimized and an expanded view and the fact that Fennec Player provides support for skins and themes which you can use to change the interface’s feel.

The nice thing about Fennec Player, from a functionality point of view, is that it has a lot to offer. The application’s list of features includes the following: support for audio and video files (MP3, MP4, AVI, FLV, WMA, and more); support for skins and themes; visualizations; media library; tag editing; media conversion; media joining; disc ripping; multichannel equalizers; support for subtitles; playlists; and more. Fennec Player is an open source project which means that it is a free application; which in turn means that you have all the time in the world to uncover all the features it has to offer.

Fennec Player supports lots of media formats, comes with a customizable interface, allows you to play, join, rip, and convert media, and it’s free. Should I give you more reasons to give it a try?

Pros

Installing Fennec Player is a simple, effortless process. The application comes with a good looking interface that supports skins and themes. Support for lots of media files is provided (audio and video files). You can use Fennec Player to play media, convert media, join media files, and rip audio CDs. It integrates with the right click context menu. Fennec Player is free software.

Cons

None that I could think of.
